Welcome, I’m so happy you’re here.
i’m dr. anne steider, a clinical and consulting psychologist.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to help people.
From a young age, I was inspired by the many change-makers in my family, especially my mother and grandmothers, who instilled in me the value of being of service to others.
I offer psychotherapy and consultation to help people feel better with themselves and with others.
for you, i want to be a catalyst for hope.
We all have worries and stressors that keep us from seeing what’s possible. I have my own personal experience of arriving at an impasse in my life. I remember how it seemed like I didn’t know which direction to turn or how to quiet my thoughts. They took up a lot of space and presence in my head and my heart, and were certainly not paying attention when I asked them to please use their inside voices. I knew I needed help clarifying how I’d gotten to that point, and in deciding what was mine to change and what I could and should let go of. That's when I sought out therapy for myself. I've seen first-hand, as both a client and a therapist, how psychotherapy can dial down the noise and bring clarity and ease to the anxious heart and mind.
our work together will help you find your grounded, calm center.
I hope you come to understand yourself deeply and learn what drives your behaviors while building an awareness that allows you to stop getting in your own way. As your therapist, my intention is to help you process and move through the concerns that brought you to therapy, and then help you feel prepared for future challenges. Through this work, we’ll construct a strong foundation to help you achieve your goals and dreams.
i’ll help you reweave the tapestry of your life’s connections and realign your heart and mind.

a little more about me:
I received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Gallaudet University, and an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology. I spent a year of clinical internship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, followed by a two year postdoctoral fellowship in Primary Care Psychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. I am passionate about helping people navigate life’s many challenges, and I draw on my education and experience to help professionals address workplace issues and concerns. While not currently an expat, I have lived in the Middle East for extended periods of time, experiences which inform an understanding of the demands and challenges that arise when navigating life abroad.
I have a strong interest in social justice and intersectionality. I see psychotherapy and consulting as a way to explore where you’re located within your many systems, shine some light on those intersections, and illuminate possibilities.
I am bilingual in English and American Sign Language, and enjoy working with hearing, hard of hearing, and d/Deaf clients.
Some things I enjoy doing in my personal time include spending time with family and friends, attending theater and musical performances, playing piano, street photography, kayaking, reading everything, and learning from one of my greatest be here now teachers, my 19-year-old Deaf cat Emma Lou.
I love my work, and I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to follow my love for psychology and my passion for helping people.
